What’s up RGL family! Bringing you the monthly update on new retro games for our favorite retro consoles. We may also highlight previous projects that are still active or available for purchase or pre-order. It continues to blow my mind on the amount of support in developing new games for 15-20 year old video game systems. Our goal is to bring awareness to these projects so that everyone who shares a similar passion has the opportunity to add them to their collection.

INFINITY GBC
The first game I want to highlight is an unpublished Gameboy Color game that was unfinished but will soon have a Kickstarter campaign to complete the game and publish on physical carts. It is being published by inCube8 Games and a link to their announcement can be found here, https://incube8games.com/blogs/games/infinity-gbc. The official site for the game is https://infinitygbc.com. Here you can find a brief backstory on the game and a trailer for the game and its SNES quality pixel sprite goodness. Infinity is an RPG which is all I need to know, I love NES and SNES RPGs. I think this project is still early days but you can sign up for updates and we will be tracking as well. – GAMEBOY COLORhttps://incube8games.com/blogs/games/infinity-gbc

GHOUL GRIND: NIGHT OF THE NECROMANCER
Ghoul Grinder is a side-scrolling NES game with great looking sprite work looking at the limited demo. That said there is not a lot of detail about the game play. However, you can download a demo, you will need the Mesen emulator, all necessary links are provided on the publishers site, https://woogworx.itch.io/ghoul-grind-night-of-the-necromancer-demo It is an auto-scroller but it does have boss fights. I am assuming this was done to limit the complexity of development. I am not a fan of this play mechanic so probably will not invest in the project. That said the music in the demo is solid and as mentioned before the sprite work is nice. The project is still open for backing, so check out the demo and if you like it back the project. – NEShttps://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1640415401/ghoul-grind-night-of-the-necromancer

TROPHY
Trophy is an action platformer in the style of 8-bit NES Mega Man developed by Gradual Games. I watched a couple reviews, one by John Hancock and both were very positive. I couldn’t find a video of the game in its final release, both John and the other reviewer had the game in its press release form which only had the first four levels. The final release has 9 levels. Both reviews commented that the music was sold and the controls are tight. I will definitely be purchasing a copy for my self, it goes for $60 US plus shipping. – NEShttps://6502collective.com/store/p_1239926/trophy.
